Kylie Kerin

Kylie is a communications, community and social impact consultant, specialising in inter-cultural and leadership communication contexts. Kylie has nearly 20 years’ experience working in cross-cultural environments, including delivering legal and education services within regional and remote Australia. Kylie has led policy and strategy development within the WA Departments of Justice and Communities, advising senior executives across a range of strategic policy, procurement, budget submission, risk management, stakeholder management and project management initiatives. She has extensive experience in cross-cultural and Plain English communications design and facilitation, and was instrumental in the design, development, production and stakeholder training of Legal Aid WA’s award-winning Blurred-Borders cross-cultural communication resources. As a senior legal practitioner with over a decade of experience as a social justice advocate, Kylie has a deep understanding of the personal and systemic drivers and symptoms of disadvantage in our communities, and sophisticated skills in engaging and communicating with diverse audiences. With an innovation mindset and primary values of integrity, curiosity and courage, Kylie has extensive experience in government and not-for-profit organisations, setting organisational vision and direction, successfully leading strategic planning processes, and operationalising values-led strategic direction with other leaders and staff teams.

Kylie has a LLB and BA in political science; a Post Graduate Diploma in Business (Governance) and is a certified PROSCI Change Management practitioner. She was admitted to the roll of practitioners of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2008 and holds a current legal practising certificate in Western Australia. Kylie is a graduate of Leadership WA’s Signature Leadership Program (2023) and is qualified to teach English as a second language (CELTA Pass A).
