National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Training Online

Keogh Bay has released its NDIS Training Package for workers in Aboriginal community-controlled organisations.

The training is for those workers who provide direct services to regional NDIS participants in Aboriginal organisations and who are reasonably new to the disability sector. The training uses an online platform, plain English, case studies and visual learning methods.

The training has been developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with a lived experience of disability and Keogh Bay.

What does the training cover?

The following modules are available:

1. What is disability?
2. What is the NDIS?
3. What is a service?
4. How do I deliver a NDIS service?
5. How do I provide good and safe NDIS services (NDIS Practice Standards)?
6. How do I work at a NDIS provider? (i.e. in a workplace environment)

People who complete the training can get a certificate which can then be used as evidence as worker training for NDIS Audits.

What if our internet connection isn’t great out bush?

The training can be completed on a standard computer, laptop, tablet, iPad and without an internet connection.

We can also print and send you storyboard versions of the training, on request, for those who would learn better by printed mediums/pictures/being told a story about pictures in their own language.

How much does the training cost?

Access to the online version is $500 per user, however, if you have a large number of staff who want to access the package please contact us to arrange a whole of organisation subscription.

The storyboard version will be quoted per request.
