National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Training Online

Do you work in an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation in a regional or remote area? Are you new to the disability sector? Are you interested in learning about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

The Keogh Bay ‘Working and Walking Together NDIS Learning Place’ is now available. The Learning Place is free and available at: http://ndislearningplace.com.au

Training participants can learn about the following:

  1. What is disability?
  2. What is the NDIS?
  3. What is a service?
  4. How do I deliver a NDIS service?
  5. How do I do good and safe NDIS
    services?
  6. How do I work at a NDIS provider?

Each module is only 10 minutes long and you can work at your own pace.

The Learning Place has been developed by Aboriginal and non-Indigenous staff at Keogh Bay, including those who have a lived experience of disability and who work in the disability sector.

Additional training modules will also be available in the Learning Place shortly:

• A Managers Module.
• Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices.
• Printable plain English Story Cards to support face-to-face learning about the NDIS (or if learners don’t have a reliable internet connection).
